Social sign-in for AxonOps Cloud

Social sign-in delegates authentication to an external provider. It is one of the methods described in AxonOps Cloud authentication. The AxonOps Cloud login card offers Sign in with Google and Sign in with Microsoft Account, each of which authenticates the user against that provider. No separate AxonOps password is set for a social sign-in account, so whatever the provider enforces, including its own multi-factor authentication and access policies, applies.

This differs from the other two methods:

• With email and password, AxonOps Cloud manages the account identity and password directly.
• With SAML single sign-on, the organisation’s own identity provider authenticates the user. Social sign-in authenticates an individual account held with Google or Microsoft, whereas SAML authenticates against an organisation’s identity provider.

Signing in

Sign-in is at the AxonOps Cloud console. On the login card, select Sign in with Google or Sign in with Microsoft Account.

The browser goes to the selected provider to authenticate. After authentication succeeds, the provider returns the browser to AxonOps Cloud, signed in. If authentication at the provider fails or is cancelled, the browser returns to the login card without a session.
